Team Ninja was successful. They did put Dead or Alive 5 onto the next level. With “Last Round” for PS4 and XboxOne, the team managed to set a new standard for it's own series, when it comes to light and particle effects.

Flying sparks and billows of smoke, particle effects caused by the mystic aura of the subject Alpha-152 and big neon signs are noteworthy features.

What makes Alpha-152 so unique, is that the former DoA4-Boss is nearly translucent. You are able to make some funny experiments with that.

The half German, half Japanese Karate fighter Hitomi has a hot match-up with Alpha-152. One detonation chases the other. This fills the dusky atmosphere in the backyard.

“It turns blue!” - quote “Rambo 3”. Beside the beauties of the game, Team Ninja is serious about the graphics. In the following pictures, you see three of the girls posing in front of a neon sign of a well known location in the story mode of DoA5.

Producer Hayashi said a while ago, that he want's to focus on improving the graphics with Dead or Alive 6. Let's see, if the team is able to push the game-graphics onto the top level again, like they did in the past with every original new sequel.

AZUCHI STAGE

Finally, the new stage “Azuchi” is available for Dead or Alive 5 Last Round on PS4 and XboxOne. Completely free.

Fans, that are following the series since the third instalment will notice, that the new stage is a remake. Beside some palatially details made of gold, there are some details in the back- and foreground you could easily miss while you are in a battle.

With that update, the new Samurai Warriors character “Naotora li” is also available to download – I'm going to leave my feedback about her really soon. For now, let's get an overview of Azuchi.

1) inside the tower

beautiful paintings – Lion in a bamboo garden and clouds in the upper part of the room, lots of lamps and golden windows and dragons

2) the roof

You can see bright shining moon, lots of cherry trees, the ocean, sailing boats, parts of the village, more golden details like a big fish and a cat prowling around

3) the court

You are able to see the full tower, another white cat is showing up, a crow is sitting there in the moon light watching the match and there are some possibilities for Combo fans – you can throw your opponent into fire torches that are here and there in the area.

Thanks Team Ninja - Koei Tecmo for bringing Azuchi back. It makes DOA5LR really rich. Keep on the good work.

RUMBLE IN THE GIM

Mila, the Spanish girl living in New York is an upcoming MMA star. She is amazed by her idol Bass Armstrong. She has good chances in the DOA6 tournament.

Ba Ji Quan is, what Kokoro is living for. Even her mother Miyako is trying to keep her away from violence and crime, she has to accept, that Kokoro will no longer be a Geisha.

Bayman is a Russian contract killer. He killed Fame Douglas and will probably play another tragic rule in the future. To sharpen his mind, he plays chess.

Tina is an American Wrestler. Because of her beautiful appearance, she has contracts as a model and movie star and does commercials also. She enjoys life, loves to ride the bike and she is also into video gaming.

Taekwondo is Rig's fighting style. He is seems to be the son of Victor Donovan and helps him, to reach M.I.S.T.'s goals. DOA6 has to reveal more of his personality.

The motivation for Hitomi to win the DOA tournament, is the prize money. Her German father – a Karate master - became really ill and could not hold his karate dojo without a big amount of money. It is not clear, if he died or is still alive. Hitomi doesn't seem to be very sad, that she didn't win the fifth DOA tournament.

The reason of Marie Rose appearance is still unknown. Her relation to Helena, Eliot, Honoka and also Nyotengu needs to be explained in the future.

Bass is the father of Tina and also of DOA's history. He has gone through every tournament so far and tries something new for the DOA5 tournament. He became “Mr. Strong” to show everyone, that he is still fresh and doesn't afraid of any younger challenger, who crosses his line.
